Eating Cheap in Center City Philadelphia

I had this idea a few months ago, but just decided to actually do it. My mission is to find places to eat near my work for under $6. Then to let everyone know what I though. I will try to stay away from chain stores and pseudo yuppie joints, focusing mostly on locally non franchised restaurants and carts.

Some general Grievances of food in center city

  • Even if its just a cart come up with a name
There are carts everywhere in this part of the city, usually running for breakfast and lunch. But less then %10 of them have names. This is just lame
  • There is no excuse for cooking steakums in Philadelphia
There are no good cheese steaks in center city. period. Especially any that are affordable. The worst part is that there are allot of clueless tourists who come around and eat this crap, and think it is a Philly cheese steak. Now in this section ill only be going after sub $6 steaks, but I may have to setup a "your cheese steak sucks" section to go after everyone.
  • Fuck Dunkin Donuts
Theres too many of them, 3 in suburban station? What the fuck. Someone should start burning down dunkin donuts.
  • Jr Bacon Cheeseburgers are supposed to be $1
Now Wendy's is a chain store, and I know all about fuck chain stores, but sometimes I enjoy a Jr bacon cheeseburger. The Wendy's in center city doesn't have the Jr Bacon cheeseburger on the dollar menu though. !!!!! Center city is expensive, this shows everywhere. This is one of the driving factors behind this project.
